Questions Orange shoppers ask

Is there a dispensary in Orange, NJ?

No. The City of Orange Township bans cannabis stores in every zoning district (Ordinance No. 14-2021, adopted August 4, 2021), and the NJ Cannabis Regulatory Commission's dispensary map lists no store in Orange. The Library of New Jersey is just over the town line at 5 Washington Street in West Orange, about a mile from Orange City Hall.

Can I just walk into a dispensary in NJ?

Yes, if you are 21 or older and bring a government-issued photo ID. You do not need an appointment or a medical card. Ordering ahead online is optional and only saves time at the counter.

Do I need a medical card to shop at The Library?

No. The Library is an adult-use (recreational) store. Anyone 21 or older with a valid government ID can buy, whether they live in New Jersey or are visiting.

Why can't I pay with a credit card?

Cannabis is still illegal under federal law, so credit cards are not accepted. The Library takes cash, debit cards and CanPay.

How much can I buy at one time?

New Jersey allows up to 1 ounce (28.35 g) of flower per purchase, or 4 grams of concentrate or vape oil, or 1,000 mg of edibles. You can mix them, for example half an ounce of flower plus 2 grams of concentrate.

Can cannabis be delivered in Orange?

Yes. Orange's ban covers stores, not delivery: the ordinance exempts delivery by a licensed delivery service. The Library itself offers in-store and curbside pickup.

How do I get to The Library from Orange without a car?

NJ Transit bus 97 stops on Washington Street a short walk from the store, Monday to Saturday. Bus 21 runs every day along Main Street, including a stop at Main St and Day St in Orange; get off at Main St and Franklin Ave, about a 7-minute walk away. From Orange train station it is about a 25-minute walk.
