Can I take photos or videos inside the dispensary?
Photography and video policies vary by dispensary, but most (including The Library) do NOT permit photos or videos inside the showroom.
Why the Restriction? - Customer privacy: Other shoppers don't want to be photographed - Advertising regulations: NJ has strict cannabis marketing rules - Security: Cameras can be used to case a location - Compliance: Helps dispensaries maintain their license
What's Typically NOT Allowed: - Photos/videos of the showroom - Recording products on display - Photographing staff or other customers - Livestreaming - Selfies with products (inside)
What's Usually OK: - Photos of the exterior/building - Photos in designated areas (ask first) - Pictures of your purchased products at home - Showing saved screenshots to budtenders
For Social Media: - Post about your experience (text is fine!) - Share photos of your haul at home - Tag the dispensary if they're on social - Follow @thelibrarynj on Instagram
Pro Tip: If you want a photo for social media, ask a staff member. Some dispensaries have designated photo spots or allow photos of product displays with permission.
When in doubt, just ask—we're happy to clarify our policy!
