First Visit
Can I bring a friend who is under 21 to the dispensary?
No, anyone under the age of 21 is not permitted inside a recreational cannabis dispensary in New Jersey.
The Rules: - All visitors must be 21+ with valid ID - This applies even if accompanied by a parent or guardian - Minors cannot wait in the lobby or waiting area - This is strictly enforced by state law
Planning Your Visit: - Arrange for minors to stay home or with a caregiver - If driving with someone under 21, they must wait outside/in the car - Some dispensaries have outdoor waiting areas, but not for minors
Why So Strict? New Jersey cannabis regulations require dispensaries to verify that everyone on premises is of legal age. Violations can result in loss of license, so dispensaries take this very seriously.
Exceptions: - Medical cannabis patients ages 18-20 with valid NJ medical cards CAN enter with their registered caregiver - This does not apply to recreational purchases
